Common Questions

Can I unclaim a question? Yes. Click Leave Question in the action bar. If you’re the owner and no other participants are involved, the question returns to the open queue. If collaborators are present, ownership may need to be transferred first.

What if I disagree with a collaborator’s edits? Use the discussion thread. Post a comment explaining your concern. If needed, revert to a previous version and discuss before moving forward. The version history ensures nothing is lost.

Can I work on a question someone else claimed? Yes, if your expertise categories match. During drafting, you can join as a collaborator. During review, you can join as a reviewer. You don’t need an invitation.

What happens if I don’t approve during review? The answer publishes once any two participants approve the latest version. If you have concerns, post them in the discussion thread so the team can address them before others approve.

I’m the only expert on a question. How do I publish? You need at least one other participant. After submitting for review, invite a reviewer from the Team tab. Once you and your reviewer both approve, the answer publishes automatically. Every published answer requires at least two approvals.

What can lead experts do? Lead experts have additional administrative capabilities: they can view version history and activity on any question in their categories (read-only), and they can delete questions or answers from the admin panel when necessary.

How many questions should I claim? Stay within your weekly capacity. It’s better to answer three questions thoroughly than to claim ten and let them sit. Pilots are waiting on the other end.

How do member ratings work? After publication, any active COPA member can rate the answer on a three-point scale. You’ll see aggregate results in the Ratings tab on the question detail page. Individual ratings are anonymous. Comments left by members are visible only to team leads.

Does my answer go through any AI processing? When published, your answer is added to Commander’s knowledge base so the AI can reference it in future conversations with pilots. The answer itself is never modified by AI — it’s published exactly as you wrote it.
