These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of copa.fyi, commander.copa.fyi, and answers.copa.fyi (collectively, the “Services”), operated by the Cirrus Owners & Pilots Association (“COPA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms supplement the COPA Terms of Service . By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

COPA Commander (“Commander”) is an AI-powered assistant that provides information drawn from Cirrus TechPubs, FAA publications, and community forum discussions. Commander is not a substitute for your current Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM), Pilot’s Operating Handbook (POH), certified flight instructor (CFI) guidance, or any official Cirrus or FAA documentation.

AI-generated responses may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information.
Always verify critical information against your current, aircraft-specific AFM/POH.
Consult a qualified CFI or aviation professional before making any flight-critical decisions based on information provided by Commander.
COPA is not liable for any actions, decisions, or outcomes resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.

2. Expert Answers (COPA U)

COPA U expert answers are provided by volunteer subject-matter experts within the COPA community. These answers represent the opinions and experience of individual contributors and do not constitute official COPA positions, endorsements, or certified aviation advice.

Expert answers are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
Always cross-reference expert answers with official documentation and consult qualified professionals for flight-critical decisions.

3. Forum Content

Commander may surface content from COPA community forums (hosted on cirruspilots.org). Forum posts represent the opinions of individual community members and are not verified by COPA for accuracy or completeness. Forum content should not be treated as authoritative guidance.

4. User Submissions

By submitting questions, feedback, or other content through the Services, you grant COPA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your submissions in connection with operating and improving the Services. Submitted questions may be displayed publicly on the COPA U answers platform.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services
Submit false, misleading, or harmful content
Use information obtained from the Services in a manner that could endanger aircraft operations or safety

6. Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

COPA disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
COPA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Services.
COPA’s total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to COPA in the twelve months preceding the claim, if any.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles, consistent with the COPA Terms of Service .
